"The Universities of Louisville, Miami, South Carolina and Alabama have also been implicated in the case. Most notably, Louisville head coach Rick Pitino was essentially fired after the initial complaints revealed a plan for $100,000 to be funneled to the family of top recruit Brian Bowen. He faces no current legal issues, however."

This is all related to case against Leomont Evans.

In order to save himself from serious jail time, Lamont Evans is likely going to spill his guts like a wh0re at confession which will most certainly give rise to further investigations that will be pursued by agents and prosecutors. It's no coincidence that $CU recruiting has not been as good since Evans left for Oklahoma State. Just like football, when the money and other illegal inducements stopped, so did a lot of the interest in their program.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

One of the main reason Martin was hired at South Carolina was because he had close connections with coaches in the AAU. And the AAU is becoming more and more important in recruiting circles. For some coaches, the AAU is more important than high school. Now what these "relationships" were with the coaches, I don't know.
