Let’s talk about special teams

Sep 15, 2019, 1:16 AM

Punting is just mediocre. 30 yard punt after 30 yard punt in a dome. It’s disappointing because I see dudes booming it across the country. Punt return needs to get better as well. I know securing the ball is number one priority but we have the athletes to be much better. Kick off is great of course and I think potter will be solid on field goals. Kick return ngata has done ok but nothing special. I’d like to give Lyn- j a shot at kick return

Im fine with fair catch 99 percent of the time

Potter is legit

Punting continues to be horrific (seriously we could use a real weapon at punter with a venables d)

Coverage seems good

Dale Hatcher. Chris gardocki kicked tail at punting and field goals

Is there a reason the backup punter never gets a chance when backups get to play at every other position?

Since we rarely return a punt, why don't we at least try to

block some? Especially against punters like Syracuse and aTm had -- where there figured to be a very low chance of returning one of their 55 yard punts?

did you see the WVA block of the NC St punt. The guy got there so fast he had a brief pause so he could get it right as the foot first touched it

I agree, why do we let the opposing teams run right by us without touching them? Sometimes they beat the ball to our receiver and are standing there waiting for the ball to arrive. At least just stand in their way at the line or something! Give our returner a chance to field the punt and get a yard or two.
