Question

Jul 28, 2011, 11:14 AM

So, what's the big deal with Quinshad and why doesn't he just commit to us since we do have a few open spots? (that's actually rhetorical, because I can think of several reasons)

My real question: why do people on this site always say, "we're not taking anymore OL or RB or whatever this class?" If we offered a player, and we still have room for a commitment, are you saying we wouldn't honor the commitment because we have too many players at that position?

But still, Quinshad's coach should tell him to commit to the Tigers and just let it be over... We'll be WRU soon enough haha

we may have pulled his offer b/c we're full on his position

thats what people mean when they say we're not taking anymore WR in this class.

I'm not sure if he is oversign material or not.

Yeah, we have loaded up on WR commits this year!***

Ah ok... Yeah, that makes more sense to keep the process appropriate

How can we possibly take early commits before rivals stars

Jul 28, 2011, 1:33 PM

come out???????????????????????? Shouldn't the coaches wait to see how good the players are before they offer?

The coaches dont evaluate players on stars.

Jul 28, 2011, 5:19 PM

Most coaches evaluate the players on their own to see how they might fit into their schools system.

Wow, look at the size of these guys. Nobody under 6ft!

Jul 28, 2011, 1:41 PM

And the weights all look great for the positions too!

I appreciate the background on this...I've been trying to determine what has changed. It appears unless you have 5 star rating...or very close to that..the schools are not about to wait on you. It's the old saying, "you snooze, you lose". The times we now live. On the lighter side;
I guess eventually we'll read about "highly-touted PeeWee football recruit signs letter of intent"...position TBD.
Trainers think they can add some additional heft.
Go Tiger Cubs!

Don't we wish their brains and maturity were as large as their bodies!

I look for an early football signing date soon.....

The time tested rituals of visits, and the rush during Feb. to get all of your commits is about a thing of the past, with the exception of the very few 5 star types, that everyone will hold an offer for. Kind of kills the old line recruiting season that we all enjoyed, but it is a new day. Thanks the Texas's of the world. Mack Brown has been doing the early committment deal for a few years, and everyone else just followed suit.
