Taking his official to UGA this weekend. UGA has a long hill to climb to compete with Clemson and Alabama for his commitment. UGA is pitching OLB to him and not DE.

They did , and they said the only thing that would keep them from retaining him if KJ went to Clemson would be losing to Kentucky a 4th straight time .
Erps.

Would you really want your son to go there? Of course we all say no.

It's a better school in a better city with more job security than he'd have working for CussChamp.

Don't underestimate Kirby.....made up some huge ground this weekend. Looks like Smart has flipped Otis Reese from Michigan so who knows if we have a spot or not. Reese might end up at safety.

No one underestimates Kirby. He's the dirtiest coach in NCAA football now that Hugh Freeze has moved along.
Problem is, the FBI - not the NCAA - has just started arresting basketball coaches for money laundering, tax evasion, wire fraud, etc, etc...which means that the climate just undertook a rather dramatic Sea Change, as it were. And your man Kirby suddenly is going to be on a much shorter leash now.
It's one thing to risk disgrace and exposure at the hands of an NCAA investigation. It's quite another to be staring fifteen years in the Cross-Bar Hilton in the face now that the Feds are dragging people in.
Something tells me Kirby's magical recruiting touch is about to maybe lose its glitter unless he's just a most serious cowboy and is willing to keep going guns blazing even with the Long Arm of the Law now snagging miscreants. Which I kinda doubt.

Quozzel, I respect you greatly, but is there any basis for calling Kirby dirty?

Yup. Hearing it everywhere from guys in the know. Smart - exactly like Freeze, who was straight Wild West, walking into schools and homes and making it rain like Jay-Z on a bender at the Mid-Town strip club - isn't even troubling himself to be subtle right now.
Normally I hate invective, but Smart & Co. are being so arrogant and Wild West about it, eff 'em. They're basically daring somebody to do something about it. If that True19 movement they're trying to pull off for the ultra-loaded class of 2019 in the state of Georgia comes off, it'll likely be the biggest mass heist in NCAA history.
Short version is, UGA's senior boosters seem to have gotten tired of seeing Mark Richt win 10 a year but never quite make it to elite, got tired of watching Alabama's inexorable march, got green-eyed about what Dabo was doing up at Clemson...and the mandate seems to have come down: do what it takes. Whatever it takes.
Smart is making $3,750,000 a year...with zero prior head-coaching experience, mind. He appears to have gotten the message. And is doing whatever it takes.

Seriously? Could you present some facts to back up your accusations? Sounds more like sour grapes to me. Your delusional and mad.

Personally, I think he's a much better fit in that position. He's hardly a must-get for Clemson. Tons of depth with or without him.
