I think it's because of the crowded quarterback conpetitions at FSU and UGA. FSU has Francois returning for now 2 years with a medical redshirt (2018-2019) plus, and UGA having Fromm (2017-2019 or 2020). LSU is completely void of good QB play and he just took an Official there. Just a thought

Kirby needs guards. JS would probably start as a true freshman but we thought Netori Johnson was ready as well....looks like a RS for him.

Could have to do with the ease of traveling to Clemson. He would do an official to ND, Stanford, etc because those trips are more expensive and the team would pay for the trip. Going to Clemson could be a day trip for them and reasonably cheap to just pay the gas themselves.
It doesn't really make sense if he doesn't use all of his officials though.

FYI, after it was announced Fields would make a decision today and many believe to UGA, Salyer had a CB to UGA. Looks like some believe these two are connected.
