Sometimes i'm addicted to Youtube videos; watch other
people live their lives lol. Came across this video of
a guy catching a 10 and a half lb largemouth 24 minutes in.
Got me wondering what the records are. World record -
22 lb 5 oz, Japan; National record - 22 lb 4 oz, Georgia;
SC record - 16 lb, 2 oz, Lake Marion 1949. Come on Spud,
you've fished Lake Marion, you haven't caught a 16 pounder?
What's your biggest catch Spudman? Got any bigguns outta
Hartwell, Keowee, or Jocassee?

You should never chalk up to conspiracy what you can reliably attribute to stupidity. Because stupidity is a much more powerful force in the course of human events.

this is how real men in Canada fish

any man that can make a jig out of their own hair and catch a 30lb muskie with it deserves a parade.

the real men in Canada use the tried and true French Canadian method:dynamite in the lake or pond.

I caught one that was 8lb 2oz in a pond. A couple years later I took a buddy fishing there and he cast in the exact same spot and hooked a monster. He got it beside the boat and it rolled on top of the water several times and finally broke his line. I swear the fish he hooked was a couple lbs larger then what I caught. It had fat bulgy eye balls that looked like golf balls. Might have been the same one I caught but we’ll never know.

after deep sea fishing a few times

a 10 lb fish seems tiny

Personally, I don't give a plug nickle about dropping cut

bait to the bottom and catching fish. #1, I like to catch them on top water. Next I like it when they hammer a spinner bait or a crank bait. And then I like to feel the tap on a worm or a jib before setting the hook. But, that is just me. Well, off to Russell....hope I whack'em....

The Lake Marion record has a hidden background. It was actually not caught on a rod and reel.
