Important Qualities in Gamecock Players

Here's a list of the important qualities players should have, according to new USuC LB coach Rod Wilson. The #1 quality is "Loving the game".

I find it interesting that with all of the listed qualities, not a word is said about "character" being important:

Rod Wilson in the article says he wants "intelligent" players. If you're an intelligent high school football player and you have several offers are you going to pick USCjr? The answer is obviously NO.

Coots mostly get players whose offer list is sprinkled with group of 5 schools and lower. They pick the Coots because that is their only substantial offer.

And, calling an offer from there "substantial" is quite a stretch, IMO.

The coots are one of those schools who offer everyone with a heart beat. But history shows that of that number, only a few consider them when it comes time to commit.
