I'm not sure I'm willing to call the Patriots the NFL's best

I mean, they've played the Jets twice and they stink. They've also beaten the Steelers, Dolphins, Redskins and Giants and they all have a combined record of 5-21 The only decent team they've beaten was the Bills and that game was too close to consider the Patriots the best team in the NFL. Because that game was so close, I say we should knock them down to #3 in the NFL. In fact, unless the AFC East can step it up, I think we should keep the Patriots out of the playoffs.

The only problem with your argument is that if you think eSECpn has a love feast with Tua, and Jalen, you ain't seen nothing when it comes to how the NFL looks at Tom, "The Poster"Boy" Brady.
So for that reason alone, he goes to the top of the Heisman contenders, and The Patriots move to the top of the Playoff standings.
Record, and wins only count for those teams in the top 10 in popularity. The Tide, LSU, Georgia Ohio State, and Oklahoma are popular. So are the Patriots.
Clemson is popular, but for the wrong reason. They are the new kids on the block, and eSECpn doesn't like that. But if Clemson were in the SEC,they would be very popular.
So for that reason, if the Patriots were in college football, they would be in the SEC West and in the top 3 rankings
They are in.
