If you owned an NFL team, would you draft Boyd?

May 10, 2014, 5:07 PM

Too many big time blunders, inability to scramble, and not a very good record in BIG games.

Ohio State

Auburn, LSU, and VT say hello. and yes I would, in a heartbeat.

Don't forget Georgia.

Tajh beat them for the first time since 1990.

I totally agree! The guy is first class, a winner, a worker and he will be able to overcome whatever shortcomings he has. you're one of the few writers on here that get it!!!

Depends

was known for his awful performance in big games..

is also on the shorter side and is less athletic than tajh..he was drafted 2 rounds ago

tajh won plenty of big games in his career and had lsu crawling on all fours begging for time outs

cosnider he is a likely career backup i would spend a late round pick on tajh

he has proven he is a high character guy who is a team player and is willing to work hard..in the 6th or 7th round can you ask for much more than that? especially when you are really hoping to get lucky on any selection you make at this point anyway

Not if you're looking for someone to compete now. My honest opinion, no

I've been wrong two times, but this isn't one of them.

If I had to pick from this years class.... Yes

I honestly think TB is the 2nd or 3rd best QB in this draft. I like Bortles and I get Carr, but beyond that I think it TB!

Respectfully, I do disagree. I couldn't pass on Manziel. If you're on his team you love him. If not, you hate him. Love guys like this, especially when they are studs. I don't see Tajh being a big time NFL QB bc it always looked like when the game would speed up, his reads didnt. He could tuck the ball and grab yards, but never really progressed on reading those throws that move the chains against big defenses. Love him to death. So thankful for what he did for his team and university, awesome kid. I don't see Bridgewater doing much either, the games I saw him where ppl were around him he looked like he was physically overmatched and slung around, besides the Florida game.

Yes and I would say that he is one of the better QB's in this draft.

NFL- Green Bay Packers
NCAA- Michigan and Michigan State (formerly Clemson)
MLB- New York Yankees

tajh throws a very good deep ball and has nice velocity from sideline to sideline, the ball explodes off his hands..and has proven the he can win games, doubt there is anyone that has more wins than he has

Wasn't he 32 w and 8 losses ? I think that was a pretty good record considering he was in Dabo's first class of 12 recruits . I think the coaching staff would consider them all "big games ".

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, given my team, yes I would.

I admit it, I'm a Bengals fan. Point and laugh at me but I'm still true and genuine to my childhood team. And I thought it was going to happen. We could use a quality guy in our rotion. Especially a versatile QB given that we're in a division with Baltimore and Pitt, who love to turn up the pressure. And was disappointed when we overlooked him. At the end of the day we went with AJ McCarron. Really wanted Boyd to have a shot at Cincy's QB job. Still wish him the best.
