I’ve thought about this a lot since Tua won Bama the Natty. Here’s my take. Clemson was in the same spot a week before Alabama did it. Alabama was beating us up and down the field, very similar to how UGA was doing Bama a week later. Regardless of who the back up was, a new guy into the game brings a new vibe to the whole offense. I don’t think Tua is remarkably better than Hurts, similar to Bryant/Johnson, but all that did was spark some new energy that eventually made Tua look really really good. So we’ve been there and Dabo didn’t do it. Hope that helps.

Trick question...

TLaw will already be starting and we will be up 13 at half.

Alabamastan, it was common knowledge here that all season in practice Tua had been much better at running the passing game than Hurts. You could argue that Saban made a mistake by not putting him in the iron bowl in the second half, but it seems foolhardy considering they won the NC.

So if our situation was similar, and TL had been killing it on the practice field all season....unequivocally, I'd say he'd do it.
