I wouldnt mind GT getting a good coach and becoming relevant

Dec 6, 2018, 11:19 AM

I think it would hurt UGA's recruiting more than Clemson's.

Remember how George O'Leary tortured the dawgs? Clemson wasn't very good either, but it wasn't because of GT.

It would hurt UGA and Clemson.

I disagree though that I think it would hurt Clemson more. Right now everybody growing up in GA that wants to stay in state has UGA on their mind. It would take a while for the elite players to change their mind on that. However, a few more guys may decide to stay in-state with another option.

I don't want to lose any hold on the ATL area recruiting.

The recruiting area is expanding each year for the reasons that you bring up

The Tigers now reach into Tenn,New England, Va, and more recently Texas and beyond to find the TOP players.
If we miss out on a top five guy in Ga. We go after a top five guy in California. I like this. It also broadens our fan base.
Dabo is good at what he gets paid to do

Those are very good points. It will always be easier to pull them from Georgia than from other states due to proximity. I'm not interested in more competition close to home.

Wanting GA Tech to get better and become relevant is like saying I hope scar gets better and starts taking some recruits from us.

If I were the GT AD, he would check off two big boxes ...

Offense is the exact opposite of the Triple Option
