Right! Skalski was a wrecking ball from day one contributing on special teams.

Coaching and EVALUATION matters. We have picked some very good 3 STARS etc up over the years.

Thank you! Skalski has been a beast since day one, yes! He was behind some great backers and paid his dues even through a med redshirt.

Fantastic young man and a great player that worked right into Coach V’s scheme.

One of my fav’s through the years.

I have been saying it for years! What Dabo learned from the staff at Wake during the 08-10 time frame when Wake(or whenever it was they were decent and going to the Orange Bowl) was "developmental program" is one thing you have to make a staple in your program.
I think Boise St. also showed many coaches around the country the same formula. Boise wasn't getting 4 and 5 star guys - but could beat a team full of them. Why? Because they developed the talent they did have.

What is different about Clemson under Coach Swinney is: "we aren't Bama or Georgia or Ohio St. where you might or might not get better once you arrive on campus from when you stepped on because your a 4 or 5 star player"! Clemson gets it's fair share of 4 and 5 star guys too! This is what Boise St, those Wake teams, the early Oregon Chip Kelly teams(average recruiting rank was 33 under Kelly).

Clemson has been the 1st program to be able to balance doing both of these things well! I love the 4 and 5 star guys.
But, I have to admit, I get a bit of extra joy to see a kid who was passed over by other programs get developed into a draft pick. See Grady Jarrett, Isiah Simmons, etc.

LSU and bama were after him. Saban really wanted him but had no room.

He didn't want to see him end up at LSU so he called Dabo.

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

The final product is the only thing that matters.

And luckily our coaches know how to get great final products.
