you follow clemson football you should know better. Adam humphries, tyler grisham, chris hairston, gaines adams, andre branch and many more were so called 2 or 3 star players. I dont give a rats ### how many stars recruiting geeks put by their names. Wait til they take the field to judge them.

All the star rankings mean, usually a 4-5 star player will avoid the Redshirt while a 2-3 star RS with another year to develop/

Agree stars mean nothing but potential. The light comes on for some faster. Some players play in rural areas and never get the media hype. Fill needs and player development and talent= Championships.

If they're gonna rank them I'd rather have higher ranked guys. For every Johnnie Football there are ten 3 star guys who won't do squat. Look at the post season top ten every year and I'll show you teams that consistently recruit top 10-15 at least. Recruiting services don't always get it right but most of the time they don't miss on the instant impact guys. Still a solid class with a chance for some heavy hitters on signing day.

...how much more the coaches can develop you. After all, even the ratings are just a few people's opinions. You can sometimes look at the different ratings - compare Rivals and ESPN on most players that aren't the top of the top like RK, for example - and see a lot of inconsistency.
I seem to remember Brandon Ford wasn't ranked all that highly even within the state when he was recruited, just for one example.

When you add 40 pounds and switch to TE, that eliminated the speed issues for his position and made him really good.

...by their rankings. I'd still risk a Rivals 3 star as arbitrary as that rating seems at times, and a lot less drama than some of the 4 or 5 stars.
