They said we couldn't beat Nebraska in 81. They said we couldn't beat penn state in 86. They said we couldn't beat Oklahoma in 87. They said we couldn't beat UT in 2003. We beat all these teams.
I will not freak out over a loss in which we beat ourselves. I will not concede a loss to a team that struggled against Towson. I will not concede a loss just because ESECPN say we will.
I didn't give up hope after the 3-8 98 season. I won't ever quit on The Clemson Tigers.
For all the supposed Clemson fans conceding a loss to lsu, may the ghost of Frank Howard visit you in your dreams and make you go through two a days. And I hope you wake up with your muscles feeling sore like they never have in your life.

I won't yield either,but I wouldn't bet my house that we will beat LSU.
There is a thing called realism.
This is now.What happened in '81,'86,'87 and 2003 are moot points.We are also not playing Nebraska,Penn State,Okalhoma or Tennessee.
And if you are talking about a loss in which we beat ourselves being the USC game,that is your opinion.I think we were not only outplayed,but outcoached.
And regarding Townsend,you saw what happened to Auburn this season,and what happened to Ball State last night against CFU.Did you bother to think about those two games? We won both of them.Yet Ball State was considered one of our better wins.
Oh,and as far as ghost are concerned,I don't think Frank knows where I live.

Dude, save it. There really is no point any longer to explain to these people that you can still have a team that you cheer for, but sometimes your team is just not as good as the other. I have been trying to explain it to these people right next to you. They are wearing orange colored glasses. December 31st, around 11 pm or so, this board will fill up with "Fire Dabo", "Need A New Strength and Conditioning Coach", "Our Defense Is Horrible", blah blah blah posts in attempts to make some morbid justification to the loss. Its time people start to realize, we aren't as good as you think we are right now and I just can't see how a month's worth of good practice is going to help this horrid defense. This is coming from a Clemson Alum....So all you people save your cute and whitty fckn "Coot" remarks.

colored glasses? We're just being realistic. If we're
wrong,WON-DER-FUL. We'll be the 1st to admit that, right.
I'd love to get on here and say we're going win 80-0.
But I just don't see that happening. If anyone knows the
slightest about college football, they'll know LSU IS

this board for a few months if we do beat LSU. And then you will find some more lame excuses to take pot shots at Dabo and Clemson, when you do come back on the board.
I didn't guarantee victory over LSU, I just stated I wasn't going to concede a loss. You need to take your anti-orange glasses off and realize LSU isn't vastly superior to us. You act as though we are playing with the kind of talent we had in the 90's. When you d@mn well know our talent has improved vastly since then. I'm sick and tired of seeing people claiming to be Clemson fans then conceding a loss before the game is even played. A lot of these people did this last season before Auburn, FSU, and VT twice.

Clemson will win every game they play, does not make you a non-fan. This '89 grad lives and breathes Clemson sports, but I can also realize when we have issues. LOS in this game is extremely skewed in LSU's favor (starters and depth).

I love the passion 79, I was at the games you mentioned and hope we can play as well as we did in those games. I believe we can, but can't make the silly mistakes, and tackle poorly.
We would have been at Clemson around the same time. I was there from Jan 75- Aug 78, following the USAF. My first two seasons were 2-9 and 3-6-2, yet 5 years later we win the NC.

Hey, If this is fantasy, I choose it. Nobody demands I be a realist about football. I see people living in fantasy worlds on a daily basis, and I don't mean in chat rooms.. Go, Tigers.
