At least we're ahead of the Houston Cougars. Didn't know a team of 30 and 40 year olds could play decent softball while on the make for young male companions.

Well, let's review the season:
On the plus side, they are great--hitting and pitching--with plenty of potential, and will only get better as their chemistry together grows!!
However, on the negative side: 1. This is their freshman season--nobody is familiar with them--they have to continue to prove themselves! 2. We're still extremely early in the season. In their first 15 games, they were 8 & 7, barely above .500. it is only now over their last 10 games where they are hitting their stride. 3. Who have they played??? Lots of teams, but mostly teams with losing records. Many of them are Northern teams that historically aren't winning programs, and usually don't play well (if at all) until the WX heats up. They've only played one ranked team (GA) who were 14th when the Tigers beat them. And finally, most of their wins have been at home, or were on a neutral field. In fact, I don't think we've even played an away series yet!
So, I'm not surprised at all that we're not ranked yet! Having said that (with all the above reasons), I still fully expect them to start creeping up the rankings next week. GO TIGERS!!!
