I think this is a pretty geed article.

Anyone else read it ?

I like the idea that - hey - if the season ended now who is top 4 ?

Clemson is def top 4 -- and I know it doesn't matter

BUT it's OBVIOUS the criteria is wonky and full of BIAS ......

Bottom line: if we are number 5 and win out we are in. If we are number one and lose we are out. Either way, the initial ranking doesn't matter and never did. If you go back to late July, the media was already saying that Clemson (even though they were #1 preseason) would have to go undefeated to make the 4 team playoff. That is a unfair pressure on any team, especially one with 80 freshman and sophomores.
The coaching staff continues to do a marvelous job of developing talent and that effort is lost in the moment when you only talk strength of schedule or perfection. The recipe is far more complicated.

Did we play our best game at UNC - No - #### no - but that was a learning/growth moment and since then the team has responded very well. Ask Alabama about Tennessee or the 4 FCS schools they are playing
(wait - its Alabama and we are not allowed to do that). You can't use the eye test for one and the SOS for another without discussing all the facts and the fact is, Clemson is very dangerous and getting better. This offensive unit is still a work in progress and that's how it should be. Since when do teams have to beat everyone by 50 to be the best? How many other teams have played as many players and still have the margin or victory we have. You rarely hear anything about the job the defense is doing because our schedule is weak. Ask Oklahoma, ND, Ohio State and Alabama how much a weak schedule meant in the last few years. Its a one game season and that is good for the Tigers. Don't look past Saturday and the next team we are facing and we will be fine. The ROY bus is just getting warmed up!!!!

that's all been covered ad nauseam - nice to see the OPTICS

of bias displayed in an article though - when the sole purpose of the CFP committee is to overcome the bias.

First, thanks for passing along the article - good read.

The one thing which jumped out at me was the statement that we are sleepwalking through our schedule. Are we truly that good that we can sleepwalk through our schedule? How good does a team have to be before they can sleepwalk through any season? Unless this is accurate then there has been either an over-assessment of the Tigers and our abilities OR a terrible insult to the teams on our schedule. Granted, the teams on our schedule are not as strong as they have been in the past BUT...sleepwalking?

Is this what the football world sees when they see Clemson play (outside of the UNC game)? If so, then how do they justify a ranking outside the top 4? With on exception, our victories are pretty lopsided and we are undefeated and we are not really even engaged yet? I know this all all preaching to the choir, but even a good article cannot convey that there is sense in what has occurred.

Great comments - adds greatly to the
