Holy #### it might have actually worked

Dec 13, 2019, 8:23 AM

Trying to pay my student loans today Nelnet is saying they don't have any of my information.

Yelling at their incompetence might have actually gotten them to forgive my loan.

I autopay anything that goes on the card

Dec 13, 2019, 8:28 AM

If it goes in the bank account I don't.

I have a phobia of overdrafts

when I graduated law school, I negotiated

Dec 13, 2019, 8:35 AM

a rate of 1% (via collective bargaining with other borrowers).

The rate was contingent on 1) paying first 12 payments on time and 2) setting up auto pay. Mine were also through nelnet.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-conservativealex.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Is it still at that rate?

Dec 13, 2019, 8:36 AM

all of mine started out at 2-3%. Then jumped to 6%

Thanks Obama

Mine went from a state teacher loan

Dec 13, 2019, 8:39 AM

to a federal Stafford loan without me doing anything. That's when it went from 2% to 6%.

If my interest rate was 1% I wouldn't be worried about paying it off as much.

that's aweful. how did it change without your consent?

Dec 13, 2019, 8:47 AM

this is where I think students are being letdown the most.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-conservativealex.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

guarantee it was in the contract, but no one reads it

Dec 13, 2019, 9:01 AM

or no idea they have the option to sell the loan.

Blows my mind how people think they can sign up for a loan and then not have to repay the loan. Just insane.

Contact your congressman then

Dec 13, 2019, 9:07 AM

because these are federal programs because nobody wants to go into the careers that are being forgiven.
