That is what I thought you hit the Pylon with the ball you are considered in how is it any different with your foot!

You and everyone else. I would have called it a TD.

Good call GCG, because it was a td.***

There's something in these hills.

Exactly. Same as the refs - a part of the field.

Sep 29, 2012, 5:47 PM

If you accidentally hit a ref the play isn't over.

Do you REALLY expect an ACC referee to actually

Sep 29, 2012, 5:47 PM

know that?

"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton

Maybe they teach a no-show class at UNC about it.***

Pylons are only talked about usually when a player has possession of the ball. In that case it is past the goal line and a TD.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think it's a point of last resort, so to speak

Sep 29, 2012, 5:49 PM

If you hit the pylon crossing into the end zone WITH possession then it's a TD. If you hit the pylon w/o possession and THEN get possession, then you're out of bounds. Makes sense to me - though I don't like it!

Re: I think it's a point of last resort, so to speak

Sep 29, 2012, 5:50 PM

It doesn't make any sense. Either the pylon is in bounds, or it's out of bounds. It can't be both.

Sep 29, 2012, 5:52 PM [ in reply to I think it's a point of last resort, so to speak ]

It makes zero sense your foot can go through the air out of bounds and land in bounds and you are still in bounds.

Its not like his foot hit GROUND out of bounds.
