Here is one of the main differences between Clemson and u5s

BOT for each school are drastically different. This is not a slam against attorneys but you need to have a a balance of non attorneys as well.

u5c has 22 members on the BOT.
Of those 22 members 12 are either lawyers or politicians or a combination of the two.
Only one played football at u5c.

Clemson has 13 members on the BOT
Of the 13 members only 2 are attorneys and only 1 is a retired politician.
3 of our members played football at Clemson.
2 of the members were in my fraternity and I know for a fact love CU football.

We also have 7 Trustee Emeriti
1 played baseball at Clemson.
2 of those 7 have children that either married a former football player or have grandkids on the team.


To me it is pretty clear Clemson BOT is mostly businessmen/businesswomen and people who have a tie to Clemson sports. While u5c BOT is mostly attorneys/politicians and only one with a tie to their sports.

I did very basic googling of these members from both schools so I assume this is fairly accurate.

To change the culture at u5c you have to change the BOT. I promise you that ain't changing anytime soon.
