Happy For C Morris but...

He's already using Clemson's motto "Best is the standard" and promised his new team to have the best defensive coordinator in all of college football. Sorry Coach, he resides in Clemson. Next thing you know, they'll be dropping poker chips in a bucket saying "ALL IN!"

I like Coach Morris and think he's going to be successful at Arkansas but he can't be Dabo.

He's not trying to be Dabo. He's just a coach who is extremely passionate about football, winning, and developing his players. He is very similar to DS however.

I thought imitation was the highest form of flattery?

Can't have it both ways. CCM is emulating the blueprint set by Dabo. What the heck is wrong with that?

Get off your high horse, brother. Any truly successful business person understands adaptation and adopting TTPs from other successful organizations.

Not trying to beat up on ya ColaTiger but I think your feelings are just not on point here. Chad was a proven heD coach at the high school level so he knows how to lead. He's just seen how well Dabo's strategy works and has adapted his thinking around Dabo's strategic plan. Arkansas could be the next Clemson of the SEC. I hope they are. They have a very strong/wealthy fan base dying for a winner that keeps striking out on coaches.

Meh - I would expect him to bring in things he's learned

He didn't hesitate to name drop "Clemson" and "Watson" because he knew the kids would respond to it. It's actually quite a compliment.

And - did you expect him to say "We're going to bring in the second best DC in the country."?

You're all correct. I need to re-evaluate my outlook. Chad Morris is a winner, a good man and only doing what anyone else would do. Dabo's coaching tree is and should be well respected. Man the best man win. Sorry for being a downer.

People need to understand that the mottos, the quick one liners are just hollow phrases. They only mean something here because we built a foundation behind it.

Why worry about someone who copies a phrase. Worry about your players, facilities, and development. Everything else is a rat race.
