Get it replaced with the synthetic, not onyx.

How much does that cost? And will they replace it on older rings. Mine is from '06 and was from a different company than they use now.

Send it to the company you bought it from.***

Got mine in the 80's. Onyx is soft and porous and will dry out and crack. Any kind of strong chemicals/ chlorine will dry it out. I soak mine in cooking baby oil once a month. Had mine 25 years and never take it off other wise.

Thanks for the idea. I was wearing mine daily but stopped recently due to the stone being gone from it completely and the "C" being exposed to getting snagged on something. I am talking to herff jones now about getting it fixed.

Cooking baby oil used for? Nevermind, I don't think I want to know.
:)

Thanks Webby!

I appreciate the advice :)

Wear mine everyday.

It's only a couple years old and the onyx has cracked. When I send it back I'm going to ask for a synthetic stone replacement.
