Gamechanger? ACC by-laws included in MD lawsuit .link

Jan 23, 2013, 5:04 PM

UMD contends that Exit fee is null and void. ACC did not follow it's own rules.

15 day notice was required before it could be voted on.

"They have deserved it since the 1980s"

Unfortunately for us....that "they" part in your post INCLUDES US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the ACC has to pay out money to a school that broke a contract then we are screwed with the ACC. Our TV contract in 2014 and beyond compared to others is already complete ****

They want the best for the ACC. At this point, Imdont care if we stay or go. As long as we're surrounded by football schools.

Why is the link gone in my OP? Was the link against some rule?

Because we need money in a bad way. The ACC has screwed over its member institutions with a terrible TV contract for the future. Any money we bring in will help the schools within the conference (including us)

Unfortunately until we leave this crap hole conference we are a part of it. UGHHHH

Maryland is suing in an attempt for a settlement. How does Maryland figure they can sue for 150 Million?

The ACC should sue Maryland for suing the ACC.

Maryland is seeking treble damages. 3 x 50 = 150.

Claims that the fee is punitive and violates anti trust laws, as well as being passed with an illegal vote. My apologies that the link was removed in the OP. It is an interesting read. UMD is not seeking settlement. They plan on walking free.

Agreed, but from what you can read in the filing, and by looking at the included bylaws, it "looks" pretty straightforward.
I think swofford may have outsmarted himself.

They'll make every claim they can to see if something sticks. I personally think the ACC shocked them by filing first.

The ACC hasn't a leg to stand on.

The ACC needs to save the lawyer fees here, let UM go and start from the begining of this if we want iron clad. Oh yeah, do it right this time.

legs, upside down. Swofford better settle for a reasonable fee or be prepared to squell like a pig.

Once they settle, are we going to see a mass exodus out of the ACC?
