Bobby Dodd right?

....or, is b/c Charlotte is soo much safer than ATL? ATL is no poster child for crime, but recent statistics say there are 20 cities that are worse to be in.

You do know that Atlanta has a pretty low crime rate compared to most other big cities, right?

And the crime Atlanta does have is not generally in Midtown, but more south downtown.

Agreed. I lived in Midtown for 5 years, worked there for 8

and I have yet to ever had a problem. I'm not saying you shouldn't be on guard, but I'm on guard everywhere I go. Honestly, I'd rather walk through Midtown at 11pm on a Friday night than walk through some place like Rosman, NC.

It's crazy the way some people talk crime in cities as if they are getting ready to walk through a war zone

I've lived off MLK next to Oakland Cemetery near the area that was formerly Capitol Homes for 3 years, which is an area that may be considered "scary" to outsiders...But I've never once felt afraid for my safety. I walk home from friend's houses & bars by myself on a regular basis. If you don't like seeing homeless people, then sure, Its not for you. But they are harmless

Now, 15-20 years ago and this probably wouldn't be the case. Atlanta isn't the same city it was in the 80s-90s, and even much of the 2000s...But I think some of that reputation still lingers

Where in the world are you finding kevlar vests for $300? Local enforcement needs to know!

Then don’t buy them and get them for $30.00 on stubhub or

For realz.

The only games they've sold out at Bobby Dodd anytime in the recent past were all Atlanta United games.

I hope they stashed that free cash, because the Yellowjackets aren't exciting anyone under PJ, and haven't for a decade.

Navy runs a better triple option than GT and has for quite a few years now.

There will only be around 275 GT fans there.

away game my folks allowed me to attend without adult supervision---I think I was 15. Two other friends and I stayed the weekend at the old Techwood Motel which then was right on the North Ave ramp and we ate 3 meals a day at The Varsity.....and although it only took us 1 & 1/2 hrs to get there, when we walked in the door to register, the entire staff said almost in unison: "CALL YOUR PARENTS!!"

We lost that game---as was the Tiger's history in those years when every game was played in Atlanta...and I learned how some visiting fans are treated at Bobby Dodd...a lesson about GaTech fans I've never forgotten, and I once took an opportunity to repay (mostly) at a GaTech/Clemson game in DV to the upraised eyebrows of my wife....I certainly hope the 2 adult males who bore the brunt of my payback remembered the little story I told them at the end of that game about how 3 young teenagers were treated at their place all those years ago.....

But whether they remembered or not, they certainly noticed how serious I was with the comments made during the game.

I know several people in the GT Athletic Dept. and Ticket Office and have been to a good many games at Grant Field, both Clemson and others. You really need to be careful buying tickets there outside the stadium as there are bunches of counterfeits. The biggest area for fake tickets is around the Varsity. Be careful who you buy from.
