Another fun fact ---

I spent one night in Goodland, Kansas on my way to Denver. The two main topics of conversation in Goodland are the price of wheat and how cold it gets in winter. But, the conversation always takes place over a good steak.

Probably to save the whales....

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wrong!!!!!

Mar 22, 2018, 8:39 AM

The catching whale law is in NEBRASKA, not Kansas, and it was actually put there for a LOGICAL(albeit weird) REASON. A legislator was convinced that no one was reading the state budget bill before passing it, and stuck it right in the very middle of the new budget. Only one other legislator caught it and was sworn to secrecy, so the guy proved that no one was actually reading a very important piece of state legislation.
