Name IPF for a guy who WASTED $4M on Bowden? How about Ford?

Posted: Aug 9, 2012 11:23 PM

Dabo wants to name the IPF after the guy who unnecessarily WASTED $4M on Bowden's buyout (after the University of Arkansas' BOT rejected Bowden)? That $4M could have been used to build an indoor practice facility!

Name it after Danny Ford and put him in the ROH!

You're a glass half empty kind of guy are'nt ya?

i think his glass is completely empty. i've seen his comments in the charlotte observer bashing dabo, as well as on t-net.

He used to be the first responder to Mickey's blog every day so he could point out everything wrong.

BS. If that's true, provide links to prove it. Pathetic liar***

OK razz - I'll play YOUR silly game . . . you made this,

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 11:55 AM

according to you, LOGICAL statement - not me or anyone else:

. . . "no other D1 AD in the country would have even considered making Dabo head coach".

Please provide a link that shows that Dabo wasn't mentioned or considered or looked at for a HC position in Division 1 prior to us hiring him. You made this as a FACT statement - show me the link or other proof - NOT your childish obbessional emotional outbursts please - just provable FACTS to back up your LOGICAL statement.

The second one in this typical blathering by you says:
"But apparently Dabo thinks of himself as a brilliant head coaching hire".

Now your only "out" on this one is the word "apparently" - I'm sure you'll stroke that one for all it is worth . . . but . . .

Please provide an interview clip, interview transcript, your own personal recollection of conversations you have had with our coach - because I'm sure you have because you are so important - that shows Dabo talking about what a brilliant hire he was/is.

This is so contrary to his nature it is laughable.

You posting garbage like this is , unfortunately, nothing but your nature and it is SO old.

Please stop.

You don't seem to be able to separate opinions from facts.

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 2:10 PM

Forgive me but I expressed my opinions on a sports blog. Something like this in an opinion:
"no other D1 AD in the country would have even considered making Dabo head coach"

Of course my opinion is based on the fact that there were no reports of other D1 ADs interviewing Dabo for head coaching jobs in 2008.

If you disagree with such an opinion, you can either explain your disagreement, or better yet, prove me wrong by providing links to news stories about Dabo being interviewed or offered D1 head coaching jobs in 2008. Are you seriously going to try to tell us that you think other D1 ADs were considering Dabo as head coach in 2008? If so, what makes you think that? (I can't wait to read your response to those questions.)

OHHHHH . . . so these were OPINIONS of yours . . . I see.

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 4:24 PM

It is my opinion that if you think in 2008 that Dabo Swinney's name didn't come up in conversations about who their next head coach would be at places like Buffalo, UNC-Charlotte, FIU, ULL, ULM, etc then my opinion is that your thought process is seriously compromised by your dislike of the decision that was made to hire Dabo as our coach.

That is my opinion. It is based on my thought process that a ton of places recognized Dabo as an awesome recruiter, tireless, young, enthusiastic up-and-comer with great pedigree and a previous history of doing whatever it takes to become a winner - walk on to scholly at Alabama, landing huge recruits for us, etc.

Not to mention his integrity and character.

NO WAY he wasn't talked about in round tables at D1 schools . . . that is my opinion.

And so far - in my opinion - he has proven that he deserved consideration and hiring at places up to and including US !

My opinion is also that you get off on being a pot stirrer and troll . . .

My opinion is also that for QUITE A WHILE you were very quick to get a response in on Mickey's blog - almost always negative. And the positive one's generally were backhanded at best.

I don't have time to go back blog by blog - but my opinion and recollection was that it seemed to go on for MONTHS ! ! !

Have a NICE day !

Got any links showing Dabo as a 2008 D1 HC candidate?

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 7:16 PM

I read a LOT of football news and I honestly never saw any such reports.

Why do you feel the need to name-call and tell me to leave rather than just posting civilized, adult counterpoints?

Please reread my response. It is my opinion . . .

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 11:08 PM

so there are no links.

My response was clear, concise, civilized and there was no name calling unless you count pot stirrer or troll.

My opinion is there is no doubt you are both of those.

My response was adult-like and easy to understand.

2019 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg

I wondered if you had hard evidence for your opinion. No.

Posted: Aug 11, 2012 2:24 AM

Calling someone a "troll" is name-calling. That's a fact.

In my opinion, calling someone a "troll" is not civilized or adult. I hope that you're just a kid and that you haven't graduated from my beloved alma mater with the belief that civilized adults call each other "trolls", etc. in the course of a discussion.

LOL at you on your high horse.***

I said "used to be" and I am not going to waste my time

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 12:09 PM

going back into archives just to show you what I know to be factual. Didn't say you have been doing it lately. I used to scroll down to the end of his blog before reading it just to see if you had already called him down .

It didn't "used to be" true either. Can't back up your lies.***

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 1:02 PM

That's special.***

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 1:20 PM

You can't refute my logic so you attack me. How lame!***

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 11:37 AM

I'll refute it. Provide a link to support your claims that

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 11:41 AM

The Ark BOT rejected TB before his Clemson contract was extended.

Provide a link that proves giving TB a contract extension was soley TDP's decision with no pressure from Barker or the BOT.

I'm not crazy about naming anything at Clemson after TDP, but he doesn't deserve the hatred he gets from you either.

Provide links and I won't call you a pathetic liar.***

Re: Provide links and I won't call you a pathetic liar.***

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 12:14 PM

Point from the original "pathetic liar".

Here you go...

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 1:49 PM

Bowden, 69-41 since taking over at Clemson in December of 1998, said he was never offered the Arkansas job by the new athletic director -- and Bowden's friend

Five years later, it's kinda hard to dig up the local newspaper links from the podunk local Arkansas newspapers (some of which are defunct), especially about the results of non-public board of trustees discussions. And the ESPN report about the Arkansas BOT rejecting Bowden was on their TV news broadcast, but if you followed the story closely at the time you'd know about it, and if you do a web search you'll see that see what happened and you can find some remnants of the story.

Stanley Reed, the Arkansas board of trustees chairman, told The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas on Monday that Long had indeed settled on Bowden and that Arkansas chancellor John White began seeking feedback from the board of trustees, some of whom expressed reservations about Bowden possibly being a lateral hire for the Razorbacks.

If you want to claim that Barker ordered TDP to grant Bowden a $4M buyout then the burden of proof is yours, not mine. I'm not the one making the claim. I will say that even if your claim is true, then I still think that a good AD should have been able to convince Barker of the foolishness of such a buyout-- especially in light of the news reports at the time.

You failed.

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 2:47 PM

That link does not prove your point.

Of course there was "no offer" made to TB by Ark. No one will officially make an offer until they know it will be accepted.

You failed.. to accept the words of TB & the UA BOT chairman***

Posted: Aug 10, 2012 7:05 PM

Do you ever NOT fail?

Posted: Aug 11, 2012 2:44 AM

I can't recall one time. You need to understand - the only person who ever thinks you're right, about anything - is you.

It's true comedy.

According to my Tiger Pulse, half of T-netters agree with me

Posted: Aug 11, 2012 1:04 PM

If you look at my Tiger Pulse, you'll see that 53% of T-netters like my posts (despite the sunshiny, pro-admin bias of T-Net & its readership). That clearly disproves your claim that I'm "the only person who ever thinks [I'm] right". Yet you apparently believe that opinions are black & white, right & wrong, and that your opinions are right, while mine are always wrong, that nobody agrees with me, and that it’s civilized, adult behavior to insult & name-call people who express a differing opinion. It's astounding.

you must be new around here.

Now, finally, that is a post many might agree with. Keep trying Razz. There really are some ponies under some of the piles you seem to dwell on.
