I don't understand the rumors surrounding Franklin.

He is a native Pennsylvanian and is obviously doing a great job at what I would consider a premier football school. Why do people think he wants to leave? Seems like it is a dream job for him.

He’s done a great and their fans love him!! The only reason he will leave is money unless he wants a raise where he is. He can use the rumors an offers as leverage to make twice what he makes now.

are all alums and none of them think he's a great coach. Good recruiter but they think he is terrible at in-game decisions/plans.

If he leaves, I believe it's because of money and Ohio State.
Ohio State may completely own the Big Ten the next several years like Alabama did the SEC.
USC is the big fish out west and at FSU he may feel challenging Clemson is possible.
USC is a much better opportunity.

not saying it won’t happen but why do you say he’s leaving?

It is not uncommon for coaches to use this current environment and being a winning coach for leverage to improve compensation and/or extensions.

Ha - if he was leaving, he'd be gone by now. Word is FSU is hiring Mike Novell - just can't announce it til after Memphis game on Saturday.

From what I am reading...

Franklin is staying at Penn St.
My question is all the other candidates that FSU is going after is signing extensions...
Is FSU going to be like the coots and end up with their 10 pick

it wasn't but 3 years ago his AD had to speak out in support of him as fans started to grumble. He is not a great coach. He is a good coach and I guess there is not a lot available. I'd be going for one with more upside.

I hear a few people speculating that FSU and Franklin are serious with each other. Not sure I believe it. But, who knows? I'll post in another thread what I'm hearing on this end. Where are you getting your information from? It's probably at least as viable as my "sources."

Every day that FSU does not have a head coach is recruiting gold for us.
