Franco Harris, Steeler great RB, one time

Jul 21, 2019, 5:58 PM

answered why he would run out of bounds when he was about to receive a big hit. He said he and some buddies had gone to boxing match one evening and on their way home all his friends could talk about was how tough one of the boxers was who had just gotten the he77 beat out of him. The guy had no boxing skill but was tough as nails. Franco thought the guy was not nearly as tough as he was stupid, and thus decided not to take needless hits.

Hey guys, I think we have our answer!

Maybe to stay healthy and to manage the clock at times?

Yeah. Often times, the defensive guys are bigger and stronger. Something about discretion being the better part of valor. Be brave (run through linebackers) if the game is on the line. Otherwise, preserve life and limb.

That is ONE of many questions that could have had that answer, but I wasn't sure which question the OP was addressing.

Just messing with you guys.

Jake Bentley must subscribe to that same school of thought, he throws himself on the ground anytime an opposing defensive player comes within 10 feet.

he didn't have to do that in 2016 when ben Boulware et al were playing him.they went well out of their way to help.

Guys, do you remember George Chuvalo, the Canadian punching bag that Ali fought. I think he was the toughest fighter Ali ever fought, but never landed a punch on Ali. Or maybe his name was UofGeorgia Chuvalo!
