Fox Sports 1

Jun 2, 2014, 3:25 PM

Hello fellow Tnetters,
I'm trying to use ESPN as little as possible because of their liberal slant and SEC bias. Obviously if Clemson is playing on an ESPN channel I'm going to watch, but other than that I'm quitting cold turkey. Has anyone else made the switch to FS1 for their equivalent of sports center, PTI, Around the Horn, etc? If so, is it any good? Is there anything else decent out there to find out what's going on in the sports world without having a socialist agenda crammed down my throat?

They carry the UFC fights. That's good.***

I do not watch SportsCenter anymore at all

I watch MLB Network for baseball scores/highlights
NFL Network for football info
Golf Channel/CBS for golf
Whatever station Nascar is on.
I don't care for any other pro sports like NBA, NHL, soccer, etc. I don't even want to see highlights of that crap.

I only watch ESPN and sister ESPNs for live sports only.

FS1 is just as bad. They focus on the PAC 12 and Big 12

but still have an SEC bias. FS1 really ignores the ACC since our primary contract is there.

watched any ESPN that wasn't about college football. MLB network is great, especially when it is close to the end of games during the week. Luckily, I couldn't care less about any of the other sports.

I'll have to check out MLB network

Jun 2, 2014, 7:02 PM

Any shows on there that are particularly well done?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NBC sports network is my new favorite

Their NHL and NCAA coverage is very good and unbiased.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

i seriously doubt there's any way to circumvent the sEcSPiN

Jun 2, 2014, 4:33 PM

& all the other brainwashed talking heads of the media... They've heard it sooooo much, even they believe their own BS

If they didn't copycat & parrot the big sports channel, they'd fear not having credibility...but why doesn't it work in reverse when sEcSPiN is constantly wrong in their pics so frequently?
see ex: when Clemson has been picked to lose & who won the Championship

OhhhEmmmmGeeee..... LIBERALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!***

Jun 2, 2014, 6:41 PM

But in all seriousness, I don't see ESPN having any different slant regarding "liberal" causes (as defined by whomever) than FS1 than CBS ..etc.

I didn't find their on air personalities engaging last I tried them out. Perhaps growing pains. If they have a show/segment that turns out to be good I'm hopeful to hear about it on the Twitterverse, etc and I'll check out.

You don't see a liberal bias on ESPN?????

Jun 2, 2014, 7:05 PM

They had wall to wall coverage of athletes honoring Treyvon Martin, they practically tarred and feathered Sterling for comments made in the privacy of his own home, and they staged two men making out during the draft. Oh, and watching their coverage you would think Danica Patrick knew how to drive a car. Doesn't get more liberal than that.

ESPN's College Football Live did a nice piece on Clemson today. It was a color poster with pics of Sammy and 3 other tiger receivers and the amounts they received upon their NFL signings. The message was something to the effect "play wide receiver at Clemson and get a good NFL contract". That same show repeats tonight and tomorrow morning on ESPNU or one of the other ESPN channels....
ESPN is the only game in town, sometimes you have to have thick skin.

While you are at it you might as well throw some Michael Sam coverage into the mix.

All of those things are topical and drive ratings (no, I did not enjoy 'the kiss'). But I can see your point.
