For any morons here who support a players union....

Apr 15, 2014, 2:16 PM

guess what.. you're stuck with Chad Kelly because he just filed a grievance with the players union. The union appealed to an arbitration board, and the board ruled that he must be kept on the team.

That's very real people. A players union will ruin your Saturdays, I promise.

Chad would have been employed in a right to work state, so it would not have been much different except he would have had to pay Union dues from his meal money.

Guys, he's super cereal.***

Just how successful has baseball and its extremely high powered lawyers been in banishing A-Rod and his extremely high powered lawyers??

You've got your head in the sand my friend.

Ummm, you do realize Arod is still suspended right?

Now he is, but he continued playing for quite a long time, and the arbitrator significantly reduced his suspension.

My point is that lawyers will take decisions out of coach's hands and I think that will be detrimental to one thing that keeps NCAA football different from NFL football.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A-Rod got the longest suspension, by far, in the history

Apr 15, 2014, 3:00 PM

of baseball, without even testing positive for anything.

Oh wait !!!

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Because that totally happens in the NFL

Apr 15, 2014, 2:31 PM

players never get cut from teams for causing problems/being a cancer to the team.

Oh wait...

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8926041/jim-schwartz-detroit-lions-cut-titus-young-remove-distraction

Honestly they can cut a player for any reason, and if the player is an employee they can be fired as long as there is cause. (based on state law in SC I don't think you even have to have cause).

A-Rod in baseball. Also, is any original suspension ever upheld? Name one.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not sure what suspensions have to do with cutting players

Apr 15, 2014, 3:09 PM

but Shawn Thornton's NHL suspension was upheld. In the NFL, I don't think Suh has ever had a successful appeal for any of his fines or suspensions and Erik Walden, Dashon Goldson, and Michael Griffin all had 1-game suspensions upheld last year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

no that didn't happen, take off the tin foil hat***
