Glad he got a job although can't tell what he's doing.

Still not sure why he could not transfer his knowledge to his def players at least in his last 2 years. Talent was part of the issue but there had to be more of the story. He was not very good at adjusting for sure.

The more to the story bit is the fact that Steele's D

is M2M blitzing defense (which Dabo wanted) and that defensive style doesn't mesh well with a spread offense that is off the field in a hurry (whether scoring or going 3 and out). Now that we have a zone/bend don't break type defense (which is what Vic ran but Dabo fired him) we have the proper defense to match our offense...
Steele's defense was great in Napier's offense - it was a slow, pound the football O (like Bama) - it just wasn't well executed.

couldn't stop a spread zone read type offense.
Steele's D could pressure and sack against traditional offenses, Vic's D couldn't.
Brent V is correcting both, which is what Dabo wants.

He's probably part of the recruiting machine the "haves" are putting in place for the deregulation the NCAA put in place.
