LOL at people upset that he's ranked in the top 20%

Of coaches after 3 years. I'd say they think a lot of him.

hasn't accomplished any more in 7 years than Dabo has at Clemson in 3. And yes, I'm aware he's 3-1 against Dabo.

If that list is all time accomplishments, then okay, but if it's supposed to be ranking coaches based on their current jobs, then I'm calling BS. Spurrier is way overrated if that's the case. Most guys wouldn't even get 7 years if they only accomplished what Sack has in 7.

Actually if yo ulook at it........ Spurrier has a 61 %

winning percentage. Dabo has 60 percent as well. After this year Dabo's percentage will be higher though and Spurrier will be 3-2 wink!!

Also took over a program that has had a past that's not even worth looking at, not known for recruiting, heck not even for winning 8+ games. But now he made the Gamecocks a National brand, bringing in talent, and winning ball games. I'd say those things are good accomplishments, especially at a school like SC.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yeah I have to give Spurrier some credit but not a lot lol***

That's a buncha BS...

When Spurrier took over at USuC he had just as many NFL players as did Clemson, and maybe more. It's laugable too that you consider #### football a "national brand" or that you're "winning games". You've really only had 2 decent season in Sack's 7 years. He has one division title ( then proceeded to get annihilated on the championship game), and that's it.

Building a program up that was as bad as sc's takes a lot of time. Building recruiting in roads, building a quality staff, upgrading facilities, changing the mentality of players in a losing program isn't something that happens in one or two years. I know at most school's consistently winning 7 or 8 games isn't something to get excited about but that was never the case at SC. They were never going to make the jump from occasionally making a lower tier bowl to contending for a national championship immediately, not even Nick Saban would have been able to do that. Spurrier's done a very good job building that program in to one that is at least respectable.

SC isn't a National Brand

May 11, 2012, 2:30 PM [ in reply to Steve ]

I had a friend from Michigan St. come down, and he is pretty well versed in college football, he saw a gamecock flag and had no clue what it was.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Then he's clearly not a big college football fan

I don't think they're a national brand like Texas or Ohio State, but a well versed college football fan should be able to identify the logo of a BCS conference school. Therefore I question just how well versed your friend is.
