Mike handled that question like a pro

Sep 29, 2014, 2:08 PM

That could be a touchy question to answer and have to go back to the locker room, but he answered it very well. Well done!

Re: Mike handled that question like a pro

Sep 29, 2014, 2:15 PM

meh..it was a decent answer when trying to not seem biased or feeding into it. Issue in it though is how what has been seen matches that assessment. If Cole "knows the offense better", why does it seem to not translate that way....Williams 6 catches weren't when Cole was in the game 3 and outing...just seems odd when putting that together with the comments.

interviews. Maybe you could upload the video of how you answered these questions so we can gain a better perspective of what Mike should've said.

I just did...said "when not feeding into it" or seeming "biased"...which means I understand why's he's stating it that way (though he obviously got his only 2 TD's this season with only one of them). It doesn't mean that's what he really feels though...

Kind of like "Stoudt gives us the best chance to win"..."Howard gives us the best chance to win"....you know...like that....

My guess is you don't handle too much external communication

at whatever job you have.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

Not marketing wise jargon that goes into public, no. Supply chain wise with upper management/presidents/CEO's, yes.

Perhaps he is saying just what he meant. "Cole is more of a leader as a senior while Deshaun is just a great QB."

I am a musician so I will use two of the jazz greats Dizzy Gillespie and Arturo Sandoval as examples. Both played bebop jazz trumpet. Dizzy actually invented the style. But when it came to who played it better, Arturo is just a great talent. Dizzy continued to groom him in the design and skill of the style in the genre of jazz.

I am a fan of Cole Stoudt. He is a great talent but he doesn't fit the offense we run as well as Deshaun Watson does. The proof is in the game performances. What Cole is able to do is bring his experience and his observations like he did with #10 for three years. Unlike with #10, who was the starter and teaching Cole a thing or two, #4 is benefiting from Cole's knowledge and leadership. And in turn, he is using it to his skill set advantage (player/coach like); much like the great late Dizzy Gillespie and Arturo Sandoval's relationship.

They'll never get it. DW is at a totally different level than Cole Stoudt in terms of talent. How can he not be the starter?

Stoudt didn't always go 3 & Out. He didn't lose any games on his own. I recall Watson having some 3 & Outs too.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh you're right, he did have that 4 and out drive***

Stoudt is the main reason we lost to UGA. Watson could have given us a chance to win.

That's BS. Wasn't the game tied at halftime??? So, I guess Stoudt had nothing to do with that, right???

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If Watson's in there, maybe we're up by a couple of scores

Sep 30, 2014, 10:22 AM

at the half.

Stoudt's HIGHEST Adjusted QBR for the season has been 63.7 against FSU, Watson's LOWEST Adjusted QBR has been 85.2, also against FSU.

TOTALLY AGREE!! FOOTBALL WILL ALWAYS BE A TEAM EFFORT. TAKE AWAY THE LINE, AND WATSON WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE THE RECEIVERS, NOR WILL HE BE ABLE TO THROW TO THEM. HANDS DOWN! SORRY ABOUT THE TABOUT.

It doesn't seem to translate that way because it's not supposed to. Knowing the offense better isn't saying he's a better quarterback.

Made a contribution to the T-net dictionary - "ends and outs"

Is that "tight ends ans wide outs" in Chadspeak?

Re: FB Update: Mike Williams on the differences between Stoudt and Watson

Sep 29, 2014, 2:21 PM

Yeah he really handled that question very well! That's one of those questions that could cause problems in the locker room, but he basically gave both guys props for their rolls at QB. And its def a scary thing for opponents that Watson is doing this well with just a small knowledge of the offense still. Maybe Dye will get back soon and add a boost to the running game, that would take some pressure off as well.

Can't Wait to see that combos. Especially next year. Dye and Ray Ray: Choice and Gallman: The (CJ's)-CJ Davidson and CJ Fuller.

Re: FB Update: Mike Williams on the differences between Stoudt and Watson

Sep 29, 2014, 2:47 PM

I think that was a pretty professional and safe answer from Mike. Great job... Although we all know D Watson is the better QB.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just go with the flow baby

Sep 29, 2014, 3:08 PM

Stoudt knows how to call all the window dressing that Morris adds behind the line of scrimmage before hiking the ball. With Watson, we don't need window dressing. Like Morris said, just turn him loose.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Keeping it simple....

Sep 29, 2014, 3:24 PM

"Williams also said that last week Watson told him if he sees one on one matchups he was coming to Williams because he felt like he could make the plays. Watson was true to his word as Williams had 6 catches for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns".

There is an intangible here that I think a lot of folks miss.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Keeping it simple....

Sep 29, 2014, 4:41 PM

Mike also had a chance at two other cicus catches. One of which might should have been PI.

With that said...

They know what they have to work with. If they protect for D. Watson or any of the Qb as if it was Fort Knox or if its was their personal homes. Then, they all will shine like GOLD.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Mike did a great job dodging that one, class kid.***

That what they live for, because that is what they are willing to do for a fiery story. At any and all cost. This whats elavates, promotes,or rewards them financially THAT IS HOW THEY PLAY THE GAME! BUYERS BEWARE!!!

Cole Stoudt is a good QB it's unfortunate that he's not going to get the opportunity to show his skills for a complete sentence.

But Deshaun is just so natural it's hard to let him sit.
