Preseason FPI is BS. Math modeling of expected outcomes, based on no real scientific input conditions, is rubbish. Its mostly subjective cloaked in a shroud of legitimacy. If you want to believe in the ranking outcome, go for it. Look at last year's preseason predicts to actual end of season for the top 10. Bottom line, it's a starting point. The season will make the difference, like it always does.

I have no problem with statistical analysis and trending, but ESPN using subjective recruiting rankings for "objective" statistical analysis is just silly. Use pure statistics and then apply weights and see which pans out closer to reality at the end of the season.

There is no way they can figure out how many fumbles or INTs will be in a game. There is no way they can figure out who will have an injury going into any game. I'm all in with the rankings being total B-S, and is as inaccurate as saying when a battery will go out on a watch. They just don't know, plain and simple B-S garbage. That's like predicting how long a new born will live!!!!

Actually that is easy with the average lifespan being 78 and increasing at about 2 years each decade. Law of averages rules the day, but if your baseline is flawed then yes the output is worthless.
