For some reason, people love to hate on Clemson.
Ben, your Clemson fans have all the love for you. We know you are not a dirty player. Just a player that gives 110% every day!

I wouldn't say "people" hate Clemson

It's mostly media... We are in the wrong conference to be as good as we are in their eyes, but most people I talk to in other regions have a positive view of Clemson in spite of the bad media coverage.
Best example was in Alabama after the NC game... I was there for a gymnastics meet for my daughter, and (always with my Clemson hat on) people kept approaching me and saying that they found themselves rooting for Clemson toward the end of the NC game.
I also traveled a lot this summer, and everywhere I went people wanted to talk about Clemson.
We have a very inspirational program and the media no longer has enough wool to cover it up.

You might be right. It is possible that living in SEC country has skewed my perception. Many TN fans have little good to say.

The kid is a One-Man-Wrecking-Crew and plays like a maniac. Thanks to Ben Boulware our entire defense brings bad-intentions. We consistently lay the wood to opposing teams and are more physical.
I remember before he committed, Clemson fans were clamoring for players that wanted to hit people backward, instead of just getting in the way and tripping them up. Prior to signing Ben we had a lot of "nice guys" who used to trip people up, but didn't consistently deliver a big hits. Over the last 2 seasons our defense has consistently punished offenses and knocked players out of games.
As a Clemson fan I don't ever want to go back to the pre-Ben Boulware days.

He definitely brings the "nasty" edge to the entire defensive unit. You MUST have that to be a good defense.

I'm a big fan, and a fan of #10s toughness. He played half a season last year on one arm, which had to hurt, because we were thin at LB. But I wish he would play with more discipline - the unnecessary out of bounds hit on the AU QB cost Tigers a TD and made the game close. He does have a tendency to do this from time to time, and he has to realize now that everyone is watching him.

That was one play and one mistake.
There was nothing wrong with that hit on Friday. And that was not a choke hold.
I guess we need to see him play with less drive for the second half of the season like we saw the D last season? I think not.

He's absolutely correct. Most observers just aren't accustomed to seeing a one man wrecking crew playing the game the way it was meant to be played. He's a modern day Ray Nitchke.

Boulware can't be a dirty player. His magnificent beard is too clean.
