There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

Ed Cunningham & Jesse Palmer pick Clemson!

Anybody checked the thermometer in Hades? I think a cold front must have passed through, might be some frost and freeze warnings.

Maybe a couple.

Sep 3, 2015, 3:49 AM

Even the ex coaches there get infected with 'company talk,' most of the time. STS has a better handle on reality than ESPiN.

It seems obvious that their goal is to dominate sports news. Their first step is to tell the most people what they want to hear. That's not to say some of what the public wants to hear is false. This is especially true in the preseason. Put the biggest fan bases' favorites in the top 25 and keep them interested.

That's how we end up with unranked teams in the playoff and preseason #1 teams unranked when it's all said and done.

Corso didn't pick us on Gameday last weekend.

"Dabo crushed my soul." --- Classof09

ever noticed Robert Smith is usually the smart one?

Sep 3, 2015, 2:56 AM

Just a little background on Robert Smith for those who don't know: he was pre-med at Ohio State, went the Vikings in the 1st round...after sitting out one of his three seasons at Ohio State because he - no joke - wanted to study. His IQ is listed at over 160. He had a couple knees injuries...and walked away from the game after just eight seasons, the last of which he rushed for over 2,000 yards. He didn't care to be a "crippled up old man" and he left people aghast he was leaving so soon...apparently in the NFL you're supposed to play until they can't glue and stitch you back together again. He said no thanks, exited Stage Left, with no drumroll and no fanfare.

As a player he played in the Barry Sanders era...and was right there with Sanders as far as being the top RB in the NFL at the time. But he walked away...and sort of became persona non grata to the NFL. They never even mention he existed, or what he was...and even ESPN, which employs him, seldom makes much mention of just how truly great a player this guy really was. He never mentions it, himself.

Very bright, very thoughtful guy, very prepared, always seems to have some of the best commentary of any of the ESPN talking heads. I've always been very impressed with him.

Not surprised - at all - he's the one eyeballing Clemson and seeing something different this year. I really respect that guy, a lot.

So he was too stupid or too lazy to get into med school

Sep 3, 2015, 4:55 AM

even after taking a year off to study?
