I love CJ (I assume you are talking about him)... but CJ wasn't a pure RB. Travis is the best back to play here, and it's really not even close.

You are 100% correct.

Travis Etienne's legacy will be as the best Clemson running back, ever. CJ was a great player, but Travis is a better RB.

That's dumb. That's like saying Sammy couldn't be considered for wide receivers because he returned kicks. CJ was recruited as a running back and he played running back. Yeah, he could do anything, but that doesn't change the fact that he was Clemson's running back. And he was Clemson's best back ever (and probably best player ever, though Deshaun has an argument), despite playing during a time when Clemson was garbage on offense other than him. Don't forget that he was the first big recruit to give Clemson a shot and is a key fixture to our success in Florida. That factors into his greatness.
