ESPN Announcers - Love It or Shove It

May 3, 2016, 8:48 PM

With all this turnover at ESPN, it's a good time to review the winners and losers:

Love It:

SVP (despite MD Terp lineage and what the #### with a midnight show?)

Herbie (tries to give Clemson some love when not giving up 100 to WVA)

David Pollock (UGA Lurch usually gets it right and fair to Tigers without Jesse Palmer self-love)

Michael Wilbon (typically competent, well-versed and nuanced)

Shove It:

Mike & Mike (the epitome of politically correct overproduced blah)

Dan Le Batard (Absolutely the worst - try to throw in some sports and competence)

Chris Fowler (smug son of a gun)

So that's my humble opinion today. As LB Bill would state: "So what do you say?"

Turnover? What changes have been made? I have not paid attention to ESPN broadcasters.

Like Herbie and Pollack, and Sean McDonough ...

... who does some of our games (has great "announcer voice").

Like Brent Musburger too (how can you not, he coined "most exciting 25 seconds in college football"). Wish he wasn't forced to do SEC games only right now (with Palmer too, that must be a drag).

Don't care for:

Fowler, agree he is smug.

Ed Cunningham needs to never do another Clemson game. He is infamous (in my mind) for the "well, that's frame by frame" apology/excuse on disagreeing with LSU defenders PI on Nuk late in the bowl game.

Pretty much everybody on SEC network. Enjoyed watching them quickly lose things to talk about in both men's and women's NCAA basketball tournaments.
