Does anyone ever dream of moving back to Clemson...

Mar 31, 2017, 3:36 PM

being able to see all Tiger Sports/Events (if you wanted to) in just a short drive

being able to catch sales at Judge Kellers

buying Clemson Bleu Cheese and getting a milkshake in the same trip

fishing on Lake Hartwell

having access to the Smokin' Pig

For those of you who have moved back, is it worth it?

no, I just have the one where I show up naked for my final exam and realize I have never attended that class, but I am given an A because I am so good looking.

I dream of it constantly. Maybe not to Clemson but at least to Greenville. I have lived all over the US. One off to college two more to go before I can come back home. 20 years of selling my season tickets but I will get back because "Mamma" is calling

My dream is to move back to the Upstate (probably Greenville or possibly Anderson) when I retire, hopefully in a few years. Like the day I retire, the moving truck will be in my driveway loading us up.

My wife and I are both retired, and we are giving serious thought to selling our home in Rock Hill and
moving back to the upstate area. I attend home football games, but it would be nice to be able to catch a baseball or basketball game occasionally.

We're living the dream. Retired and moved to Seneca last July and are loving it. Wouldn't change the decision at all. That 15-minute ride to Lot 2 in the fall is a heckuva lot better than the 5-hour trip. Also have made it to basketball and baseball games.

Also loving living in a small town again.

Man I love it, I miss it dearly. I haven't been back in approximately 10 years. Hard to believe. Haven't been to a home game in over 13 years. Time goes quickly, don't blink. Nostalgia is intoxicating, one day.....one day...

Grew up in Anderson for 28 years. Graduated from Clemson in 2010 after working for 10 years first. Moved to Charleston after graduation. Not a day goes by I don't think about moving back to the upstate. It's much better than Charleston. I've been here 7 years so I can make an unbiased decision on that. Life is here now though so have to make the most of it.

I love the west. i find it infinitely more beautiful than anything in the American east, I like the time zone and the proximity I have to 8 national parks etc

I could live a variety of places in the coming years, including overseas. I applied for a job in Australia that I almost got.

I loved Clemson, but I lived there for the first 22 years of my life and now I want to see all the things I can around the world

Born and raised in So Cal, left when I went into the USAF in 1979.
Saw a lot of the world and the rest of the USA.
Landed in Florence in 1999 and took a trip to Clemson in 2003.
Reminded me so much of the San Fernando Valley and surrounding foothills before that place went "Full on stupid" in the late 80's.
My dad was a Clemson fan. He disliked the NFL and would watch any college football game.
I started watching games with him before I left to go join the military. It was tough because we only had like 8 channels, and that was in the LA market too.
Finally in 2004 my wife and I made the move to Greenville, a place I now call home.
We're getting ready to retire and will share time between Greenville and our house in the north GA mountains in a town called Suches.
All is wonderful in the world.
Carry on!

"...We're getting ready to retire and will share time between Greenville and our house in the north GA mountains in a town called Suches."

Suches is pretty cool IMO. I ride a bike and Hwy 60 is awesome. We always stopped at the Two Wheels bike restaurant and had lunch. From there, we usually took Hwy 180 towards Blood Mountain, which is an experience IMO. You have some awesome roads around there, so I hope you ride.

For me - I love being 30 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Black Mountain, Lake Lure, etc, so I'm happy right here. There is no reason for me to move to CLEMSON. I can be there in 1 1/2 hours. That milkshake sounds good though. I loved those things.

Re: Does anyone ever dream of moving back to Clemson...

Mar 31, 2017, 6:14 PM

Yep we both ride. I'm on a red 2003 Tuono and my wife rides an '03 YZF600R.
Found the place around 2002 on a bike rally trip.
We bought our house from the current owner of TWO.
The place is a blast. Great neighbors and a great community.

Re: Does anyone ever dream of moving back to Clemson...

I did, well moved back to the upstate and work in Clemson often. You do get to see the changes first hand, all around town. I lived in AL for a year and a half, I have some stories to tell.. Wearing the tiger paw hat in AL.

Clemson- It's a good place to come back to if you have the financial means/job set up, you will be able to see more things, players walking around, Clemson life, Fan day, changes around campus. So, yea, maybe so if the time is right. Especially if you're from the upstate area already, you see it growing in the Anderson, Clemson & Greenville Markets for jobs. Personal decision, but there are advantages. IMO
