Only reason I can see why Taggart insist on playing Blackman. Hornibrook is clearly the better QB. Dont claim to have any insider info on the situation... Taggert may just be that much of a DA, but something doesn't add up.

Hornibrook is clearly the better passer. But with a non existent line, that doesn't matter that much.

The whole "Blackmon is a great lockerroom guy" bit was trying to explain why he got the start without giving the real reason.
The real reason was likely that Hornibrook didn't get the start because he is a statue and a sitting duck behind their oline against any team with a decent pass rush.
That line doesn't sounds very good to the olinemen when they hear it, so Taggart has to say that the team loves Blackmon he thinks they will rally around him.

The locker room problem is being corrected but it takes time.Jimbo,with blessings from the AD and president had let the program get so filled up with thugs that it’s got to be a complete overhaul.Give Taggart time and all thugs will be gone

If it was, indeed, a locker-room problem, the problem occurred when they opened the door so the players could run out on the field. From my seat it looked more like an "on field" problem.

They've been using reusable cotton wipes and putting polyethylene over the toilets to conserve water. Not all are happy with the change.
