Therefore if Clemson were #1, we'd play #4 in Miami. If Baylor ends up #1, they'll play #4 in Cotton Bowl. If a team like Florida (for the sake of explanation) were #1, they would play #4 in Miami and a No. 2 Clemson would play #3 in Cotton Bowl.

That is why it doesn't matter if bama is #1 and we are #2. If we are number one we are playing in the orange bowl. If bama is number 1 they would play in the cotton bowl which means we would play in the orange bowl as the #2 seed. So people please don't flip out when Bama is #1 on Tuesday. We are still going to the orange bowl and would most likely have to play ohio state either way.
