Discussing 8 Team CFP vs present 4 teams..Dabo said something I liked.

All the teams start out as CFP contenders and as the year goes on every team & coach should realize a loss affects that..so winning should be the priority as well as winning their conference.

If one does that, then being one of the best 4 CFP teams is the criteria to strive for..not 8 or 16, etc.

Dabo knows having 8 teams doesn't necessarily mean we will end up with the best 4 and really may bring up more issues & problems (like people wanting 12 or 16 teams).

Saying..play each week as if there's only 4 openings, not 8!

The push for 8 teams is motivated by wanting to get more SEC teams into the playoff to increase the odds that an SEC team wins the National Championship. Not to help find the best team.

SEC fans are missing their BCS scam something fierce now that the champion has to earn it on the field.

All teams do not start out as contenders though. None of the group of 5 teams have a chance which is asinine. Why include teams in FBS that have no shot at winning the national title?

Strength of schedule and perception of certain conferences is a criteria for determining who gets in, neither of which are controlled by the players and coaches.

Every team should have a clear path to the playoffs by simply winning on the field. Every other sport has this.

and we all got rid of divisions and went regular season champ style. Huge improvement on our regular season slate getting a greater variety of league teams mixed in at the expense of the Wakes, Syracuses, BC's and Louisvilles every season. We could play 3 annual rivalry games and then every other team twice in 4 years and stay at 8 league games. It's perfect.

For the CFP, Power 5 champs plus 3 at-large. You could move it back a week from CCG time with the losers put into the NY6 bowl mix with the "last 4 out" group from the committee and call it the "Conference Round". That would provide two weeks of planning and would better allow for home stadiums in the top 4 to host.
