the late FG was? Cut the margin from 30-3 to 30-6 with 3:27 remaining.

Makes it a 3 score game (same as a td would) instead of a four score game. It was fourth and forever so it was actually a no brainer to kick the fg.

Both FG’s were flukes. The long completion to Smith on SCar’s first possession that ultimately setup the first FG was an anomaly because Hilinski rarely completes deep balls. The second FG came off a aTm fumble at their own 13, so, other than not turning the ball over, there wasn’t anything for SCar offense to really have to earn there.
