Did anyone else notice last night....

That right at the end of the first half the clock froze for 3 seconds at the 8.4 seconds remaining mark (clock stood still). The officials then spent 2 minutes debating on whether or not to give Davidson another 3.5 second possession at the end of the half. Am I the only one who realizes that if the clock stands still, then you already got your 3 extra seconds, and adding time to the clock gives them even more play. If anything, they should have negated the final 3.5 seconds of play in the first half. I was in awe of their stupidity, watching as they discussed this adding of time to the clock as if it was the mathematically correct thing to do....

Not to mention they brought both teams back to the court from the locker rooms only to send them back after they finally made a decision.

yes. Elmore embarrassed himself trying to explain why they should add time.

I noticed it real time but just glanced at 8.4 so I though my eyes were playing tricks on me. I just saw it pause for a split second

I believe that the refs did the correct thing in evaluating the clock stoppage. The logical error was Elmore's. So much for a Harvard Law School education.
