Well, I hope the outcome is what you predicted, although

I think the Tigers get beat and the outcome is never in jeopardy. FSU leads the entire game.

you would pick Clemson to lose the game. You are usually so upbeat and positive about the Tigers. This is a shock.

FSU won't be done with a loss. CU will be. If FSU loses

Nov 7, 2008, 2:51 PM

they're in about the position we are in going into the game. They would need 1 loss by CU and 2 losses by WF(only 1 more if WF loses to UVA on Sat) to win the division in addition to winning out of course.

I hope you're wrong about Clemson winning a close one.

Nov 7, 2008, 5:06 PM

I don't know if my heart can take another close one. Can't Clemson just win big for a change?

FSU seems scary. But when you think about it, the teams are pretty evenly matched. FSU got beat in close games by Wake & GT, just like Clemson did. And I'd say that if Swinney had been coaching the Tigers for 10 days prior to the Wake game, Clemson would have have beaten Wake and GT.

If Clemson plays like they did against BC, then Clemson loses. If Clemson plays like they did against BC, but without the turnovers, special team errors, and costly penalties, Clemson wins. Clemson just needs to play to their potential.

A key will be pressuring, containing, and sacking Ponder. If the defense repeatedly lets Ponder slip away for 1st downs (like Riley Skinner) or even lets Ponder avoid sacks (like Chris Crane) it's going to be tough sledding. And if the defense gives Ponder too much time, it will be tough to cover their tall receivers.

The Tigers need this one more than the Seminoles. And it just seems like Clemson couldn't possibly have another game where the opposing QB gets away all day, or we have multiple turnovers. Couldn't this be the day when Clemson puts it all together and plays like the team that was picked to win the ACC?

Go Tigers!!!
