Attended in the late 70s and he always tells me that he remembers as a student the many beatdowns Clemson inflicted upon Dook during this time in football (graduated in '80). This was a time at Dook before Coach K and a truly dominant bball program (they were good, but not great, as they had Mike Gminski and other quality college players). I can't really imagine there was all too much to get excited about, sports-wise, during his time there. Since his graduation, he has seen unprecedented Dook football losing streaks tossed in with some mildly decent years, but you can imagine his excitement when all three of his sons chose to attend Clemson and he finally indirectly had a real football team to root for. That being said, tonight will see some friendly banter among our family members...at least until kickoff when one side of the groupchat goes silent and Dad has to relive those "fond" memories of the Clemson beatdowns of the 70s and 80s. Clemson 63 Duke 7.
