My 13 year old daughter told me her coot classmates were saying that the SEC tournament wasn't important to them and that the ACC stinks. She said I don't understand where they get this...are they stupid? She is starting to figure out what we all already know.

Maybe you should tell her the last time the ACC won a National Championship that Strom Thurmond had just been elected to his first term.

it is his alter ego typing in caps. a psychologist would have a field day with him and make him a case study. to understand him, just follow his posts, or go back and read some of his past posts.

Your mascot looks a lot like Tigger. I was hoping it would help me be accepted. Maybe I should have user Winnie the Pooh with Crazy Eyes.

Of course we did this year, depending on how the committee views the tourney, it probably cost us a National Seed. Normally we don't, rather get back home and prepare for the post season. I think that may have been the problem this year, it mattered, we put emphasis on it and I think we played tight because of it. Wynkoop pitched well enough to leave that inning with a 2-0 lead, but he made an error and immediately lost it. That is playing tight. That is Leggett's problem against the Gamecocks. He is so tense in those games and it transfers to your players. You will always do better at a game if you have fun playing it. You can laugh at the Spirit Stick, Reptar the Fish, and the Bunny, but that sort of thing has helped us play loose when the pressure is on.

You played loose in your entire final month of the season , culminating in something that can only loosely be associated with competent baseball. You got thoroughly stomped in your tourney , and whether you admit it or not that team was trying , just got embarassed ...it happens. The great Garnetion Baseball Dynasty is officially over , now go live in the pastlike nobody else should .

How did I deny they were trying? Read what I said again. And no, it's not over by any stretch of your imagination. Holbrook brought this team through more adversity this year than Tanner ever had to. Our Fr class is a great one and has had to contribute more than any in a long time. We heard the same squawking about Tanner after losing to ECU in the regionals in 09. This state has great baseball talent and Leggett has let them grow up watching the Gamecocks own the Tigers on the diamond.

Our FR class is as good or better. I think you have what is lopsely termed as a downswing going on. Hal Holbrook is nowhere near the manager Tanner was , or recruiter for that matter. Only time will tell , but based on how your team played through April/May ...I wouldn't go buying any tix to Omaha this year , Coot.

Chad is not as good a coach yet. But it is hard to step in and be as good as Ray. Oddly enough he reminded me more of Tanner by going to Seddon early yesterday than he has yet. He makes some mistakes, and his instincts are not on par with Ray's yet, but I will take Chad's gut over Jack's by the book anyday. I think you are a bit clueless on Chad as a recruiter though. He is excellent. Tanner and every player Chad has recruited will tell you that. He took a team that lost one of the best starters and best relievers in program history to super regionals last year and was probably one win away from hosting a super regional with a team that had 7 starters miss games with injuries, 3 for an extended time. That is solid coaching. If you are basing it on this week, Ray didn't do real well in Hoover either.
