I told him “ maybe you should concentrate on beating Kentucky, then possibly winning your division, which with Georgia coming on won’t be easy, then you also see us at the end of the season which hasn’t gone well the last 4 years. He said they almost got us this year... I laughed again. And told him. “It was 34-0 at one point. And your points came against our back ups. The final was 34-10, How is that almost getting us? Then he started the excuses, I just shook my head and walked away. Can anyone explain the coot mentality? Other then denial.

I live in Columbia and until you've lived among it, you really can't appreciate the level of delusion. It isn't just fans....it's the local media. A few days before the SC-Clemson game Josh Kendall from "The State" paper wrote an article titled "SC Has As Much To Lose As Clemson." He wrote this on the eve of Clemson playing for a conference title and shot at the national title. This is coming from a guy who presumably would like to be taken seriously. The desperation to be relevant drives them to make themselves look ridiculous (but entertaining).

I lived among them for two years and their delusion was mind numbing. I was transferred to Georgia, which hasn't been easy. Yet at least Georgia has experienced some level of success through the years and the "dawgs" were my favorite rival back in the 80's. The "yardbirds" have never accomplished anything of note. Still they persist in an arrogance that may only be explained by sheer ignorance. It's fueled by the school paper, also known as "The State." Any reference to it as a legitimate news source is a joke. In 3 years time, Muscoot will be a memory. If he experiences any degree of success, he will leave that dumpster fire for a better environment. If he doesn't, they'll fire him and replace him with the next "program savior." It really is a pitiful situation. I'm just glad I escaped with no lasting consequences. Without a doubt, it's the worst place to live in the Palmetto State. And that chicken is the mascot for the least significant institution of higher learning in the southeast. Go Tigers!

climb than ever. Both Tenn. and Florida will improve immediately and then they have a tuff Marshall team, and us those could be 4 loses there and Texas A&M and Arkansas under Chad Morris could be 5 or 6 loses next year.
The problem with coot fans is that they have one good season and think they have arrived.

I think their schedule next season may allow them to win at least 8 games, and possibly 9 or 10. I think it'll be a year or two before Tennessee or Florida improves very much, and they get Tennessee at home. They also get A&M at home, and outside of Florida, their only conference road games are against Kentucky, Vandy, and Ole Miss. They may very well lose to Kentucky for a 5th year in a row, but that's still not exactly a very tough game. I think they lose to Clemson and Georgia without question, but they could very well be favored, or at least less than a touchdown underdog in all the other games. I'm sure they'll probably lose to at least one other team like Florida or Kentucky on the road, but their schedule favors them in a big way.
