If Clemson smokes UVA, LSU and O31O State struggle but win in very close games, do the Tigers have a chance to move up to #1 in the CFP rankings?

narrative. It's better that we win a close one. First, our seed isn't going to change either way unless someone in front loses, and second - a close "quality" loss might help UVA remain ranked in the Top 25, like the SEC effect, though it would ultimately have little impact on us.

Zero chance of moving up unless one of them lose. LSU beating #4 Georgia will be seen as more impressive than blowout out Virginia, and more or less the same will be true of Ohio State beating Wisconsin.
