Can a booster pay money for the likeness of a 5* recruit now?

I can foresee a whole lot of cheating going on.

Yeah....I can envision a whole lot of bad scenarios developing with this proposed system. I just hope it doesn't damage a real good institution too badly.

I think an across the board FAIR stipend for all players and maybe student managers for college FOOTBALL ONLY(it's the money generating sport) would be a better system.

But........like most everybody else, I have two elbows and an opinion. And that's my opinion.

I can see a lot of changes coming

athletes taxed on income, and possibly scholarships if some of our politicians have their way. Sounds crazy? Well we didn't expect things to reach this point, did we?

If recruits or players are getting paid in the future, then they should not be exempt from taxes as a student athlete. They have to pay taxes like us if they are getting benefits!

Do that and watch the Title IX lawsuits fly.

My understanding is that they have just opened it up for discussion. Nothing has changed and they set 2021 as a target date for some sort of decision on guidelines. There will be a LOT of discussion for the next few years before ANYTHING is implemented...if at all. Just buying some time to get a handle on things and LOOK like they are addressing the issue.

Endorsement deals are nothing more than a return to the days of bag men, only out in the open.

It sounds real nice in theory, but has absolutely no practicality.

Not much will change.

Some of the guys might have more money and get into more trouble but that's about it.
