Evidently, this cheer has been lost over the years. I remember this being done at every home game before the s Carolina Game when I was a student '64 thru '68.

No, not lost. People are just soft.

I've done that cheer many times (in Clemson and in Columbia) and Clemson people more often that not just seem to look over at me thinking "did that young man just say a cuss word?"

Carolina gamedicks...TO H3LL WITH YOU!

There's something in these hills.

I was there from 1965-1969, and you're right: students

yelled that cheer across the campus continually in those days.

There was more Cockadoodle-doing on the Clemson campus than in a barnyard full of the critters. My favorite was hearing it about six a.m. from one of the toilet stalls in the tin cans. lol

LOL.....I recall hearing that early one morning, the noise

Nov 24, 2014, 7:44 AM

of which reverberated on the walls. Only time I remember students yelling for someone to quit screaming that cheer!

I remember the guy with the mic in the 80's leading that cheer at the end of the game before the coot game. Ahhhh memories....I'm in. It starts back up Saturday!

Is it time to resurrect this cheer?

Nov 24, 2014, 8:18 AM

I'd love to hear this all day and one big one, from the entire stadium, when the dejected coots walk off the field. I learned it when I was only 6-7 years old from the mic man and my parents would yell it in front of me. I don't advocate cussing in front of kids or seniors, I've had a coot removed from our section for constantly dropping the F bomb. I see the cheer as a nice way of telling the coots what we really think about them.
